Everything you have heard about Attraction is true. These US rockers know how to have a good time and know how to party. There have been several posts and other reviews concerning these guys, all-unanimous in their praise. I have to add my endorsement to those claims. Full credit to the guys for making such a commercially unacceptable record and to Kivel for seeing what great potential they have and releasing the record. When I say uncommercial, I refer to the modern rock climate. As far as regular visitors to this site, you couldn't get more commercial. Just check out the credits for who helped these guys out: The great James Christian produced the album and provided acoustic guitar and backing vocals and Jeff Canata provided some engineering help and keyboards. It takes all of 10 seconds to work out what these guys are into. | |||
The big vocals, bigger hair, even bigger choruses, anthems, hard rocking good fun songs, kiss and tell lyrics and plenty of overblown backing vocals. The feel is straight out of the late 80's with bands like early Warrant, early Poison, Trixter, Bulletboys, Motley Crue and Kiss all comparable in some way. Get Up And Shake is pure good fun, Save Me Now is wonderful anthemic glam AOR at it's best and the ballad More Than You Know is as big as they come. The backing vocals are immaculate. Get your lighters out and wave them in the air! I can't single out any track for not pulling it's weight, but for me the other highlights include the fast moving anthem Things Were Better, the party track Summer Days and the other ballad of the album, the classy acoustic intro'd but electric finished Gone But Not Forgotten.
| PRODUCTION: 85% | SONGS: 89% | VIBE: 92% | ATTITUDE: 95% | ESSENTIAL FOR: All fans of classic LA hard rock and some glam rock fans. |
