Why Babylon AD have strayed from their previously melodic hard rock past I don't know.
Even more curious is why they would now, at this stage, choose a genre that has all but disappeared up it's own ass.
What I am talking about? For those that haven't heard, Babylon AD have gone grunge.
I don't like this album. I don't like the fact that a pretty good hard rock band have taken a straight up hard rock sound and converted to another sound that has seen more than a dozen other bands fail miserably at.
What were they thinking?!! The only track with any redeemable merit is I Wanna Live, which retains some melody and some of the band's old Motley Crue-ish sleaze.
The rest of the album is dark, tuned down and distorted. Just like their career is going to be once this album is finished with.
Sorry guys, but get a new manager. Who ever advised this change in direction should be fired.
BOTTOM LINE: It's just a case of being about 7 or 8 years too late and even then I wouldn't bet on the record being accepted by anyone. Why did Warrant, Def Leppard, Motley Crue, Dokken and Bulletboys all change back to their classic style? Because changing pissed off their fans and gained zero new ones in the process. Same will go for Babylon AD.

ESSENTIAL FOR: The few people that liked the change to Grunge in 1993...
