More good time hard rock from the guys at Kivel Records! The third of their releases reviewed here today, this one is the oldest - coming from 1997.
But these guys need exposure and I am pleased to review it now. The band are a glam or sleaze hard rock version of AC/DC with a vocalist that has a lot of Vince Neil in him. In fact he is no stranger to the rock scene - he is Steve Whiteman, former lead singer of the band Kix.
The guys rock hard with a great production backing them and some classy songs that just ooze attitude.
The band compares favorably to Motley Crue in their sleaze hey day and to fellow LA hard rockers Wildside.
Other comparisons like Faster Pussycat (Can't Take The Heat), heavy Poison, Ratt, Guns N Roses and Twisted Sister come to mind.
The band really capture the spirit of great rock n roll, straight out of the late 80's, early 90's, but with a good enough sound to give them a shot in this new ear of rock.
There really isn't a dud track on the album.
BOTTOM LINE: An album for fans of the heavier and sleazier side of good time hard rock. Full of hard, classy and hook filled rock n roll. If you are a fan of the compared bands, then these guys could easily slide into your collection.
