This has to be the saddest excuse for a tribute record ever. This is second only to treading in a fresh dog turd. Enough is enough. Cleopatra have to be stopped. Their roster of releases so far offer the rock world nothing. It's either re-mixed, re-recorded, re-released or just totally butchered as this release indicates. That does not make you a legitimate label. I love GNR (or used to, I gave up when they did)...how could anyone lend their creative talent to this slice of utter shite. Tracii Guns plays all the guitars on all but one track and the vocals are varied between the likes of Kevin Dubrow, Phil Lewis, Marq Torien, Kelly Hansen (how could you?!!), Jizzy Pearl, Steve Rochelle and John Corabi + more. But their efforts (poor at that) are mixed so far back into the scheme of things they become pointless. Same with the guitars. The entire album is merely a hint of some classic Guns N Roses tunes, mixed to a heavy industrial techo dance mix. Enough, I can't go on. I just do see the point of this. Remix an industrial act, or a pop act or a damn dance act, just for God's sake - leave or rock bands alone. | |||
And to the guys singing on this - Hey fellas! - there are better ways to pay next weeks rent.
