This is Jamie Kyle's debut for Frontiers / Now & Then and kick starts a career that stalled temporarily after 2 well received solo albums - Passionate Kind & Back From Hollywood. This album almost replaces the need for those, as it combines the best tracks of each and adds a few unreleased tunes a) out of good thinking and for the love of it and b) for collectors of Jamie's first 2 albums who need to have everything. For lovers of female lead AOR there is not always a lot on offer. With Fiona and Heart long departed there is little left to long for. Well the is now Dante Fox, but even better is Jamie Kyle. Jamie is a killer vocalist and songwriter. My favourite tracks are her version of Stranded - covered by Heart, Bed Of Roses - classy AOR, Back From Hollywood, the very moody rocker When Angels Cry & the surprisingly heavy Bombs Away, with hooks everywhere. The back to back ballads Let It Go & How Do I Stop The Tears are also very good. Another bonus for AOR fans - most tracks are written in house, but there are 3 songs written with Van Stephenson - 2 of which have been produced by Jamie with Van. *Unreleased songs. | ||
