I can't take much more of this, so we'll make Volume One a brief review. This one hits out at the 70's monster his. That is if they were recorded by the Rolling Stones (2 covers) and Joe Cocker (2 covers). There is also numbers from Mountain, Joe Walsh, Robin Trower and Pat Travers. Drums on this project are handled by Chuck Bonfante, who no doubt after hearing the end result, jumped ship for the sequels. Al Pitrelli handles most of the guitars, but was still paid enough to guest appear on Vol. 2 and Vol. 3. The production by Pitrelli is (funnily enough) even worse than the Farese produced volume 2 and 3. It's just terrible. This sounds like a collection of cover/demo's from the local pub band. Vocals are by Farese and I am really sorry to say this mate, but they sound awful! Honky Tonk Woman is something no-one should be forced to sit through. Corey Glover from Living Color sings on The Letter and Rocky Mountain Way, which are at least passable. | |||
The only really good track on this whole album is the Bad Company cover Ready For Love, sung by Snake Sabo of Skid Row. His voice suits the atmosphere of this project and the song itself. Nice job.
