Vital Signs made their break with a catching little tune on the Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure soundtrack. Just like watching that original Bill & Ted movie brings back fond memories of an era passed, so to will listening to this classic unreleased album. Vital Signs have finally been able to release this long lost album, from an era where rock n roll was care free and blared from radio's across the world. This is music that any Survivor, Loverboy or Nelson fan would instantly take to and is an unmistakable portrait of a past age. This is so pure 80's that I can't fathom why it wasn't originally released. Just as well that wrong has now been righted by the good folk at AOR Heaven. Rather than matching the style of the power rocker The Boys And Girls, this album features an even earlier brand of 80's rock. This is early 80's style pop rock with songs driven by an equal mix of keyboards and guitars. | |||
As I stated, fans of early Survivor and Loverboy will relate to this in an instant. Vocalist David Notary occasionally sounds a little like Jean Beauviour, while guitarist Jimmy Z has a Frankie Sullivan flair to him. Rather than point out individual tracks, I will say that the album is consistent and enjoyable from start to finish.
