TWO OF A KIND is a new Melodic Rock combo made up of experienced musicians from the Dutch Rock scene. Leader of this new band is Fred Hendrix, better known as main songwriter and singer for the Melodic Rock masters TERRA NOVA. With his band, Fred released four acclaimed studio albums plus one “Best Of” with five unreleased songs. He also masterminded the more Pop-Rock oriented AQUILA, a band that released two studio albums in Japan only.
Notwithstanding the success of AQUILA and TERRA NOVA, Fred has become more and more interested in production and songwriting, so he started looking for new and fresh talent to develop. Following several suggestions from Frontiers Records President and Art Director, Serafino Perugino, Fred hooked up with not one but two female singers: Esther Brouns and Anita Craenmehr.
Both singers have gathered extensive experience singing and performing with various bands from the Dutch scene. Most notably Anita was part of NIGHT SHADE (one single recorded on MCA) and FAST FORWARD, while Esther played in various covers bands.
After a few writing sessions, Fred submitted the plan for a new band with a great melodic rock edge in BOSTON meets HEART style to Serafino, who liked the material and signed the band in late 2005.
Recording of the self-titled debut album was completed during the Summer 06 with the other TERRA NOVA members Gesuino Derosas on guitar, Hans in't Zandt on drums and of course Fred's bother Ron Hendrix on keyboards.
TWO OF A KIND is now a ready to unleash their powerful dose of Melodic Rock on the fans and are ready to rock Europe with tour dates planned for spring and the summer.
