If Jimmy Barnes spent as much time working on new material as he did running around recording covers, he would be much better off.
Ever since he scored a massive hit with this Soul Deeper album, Jimmy has recorded 2 live unplugged albums, another covers album and a new studio album of soulful rockers.
Enough - Jimmy's voice is fading with the years and there is only once choice left - rock you old bugger!
But Jimmy is far too busy getting his head into any special event or on TV for anything - even promoting KFC in 2002.
Good grief.
This release is an indie label release that comes with the DVD of the same name. Yes, they couldn't give away the DVD, so here's the audio to go with it.
This is a pointless release, covering the same old ground Jimmy has been treading for the past few years.
Yes, he can belt out a tune and can still rock up a few old classics, but like I said - the star is fading...
One only has to listen to the class of Ride The Night Away and I'd Die To Be With You Tonight against the rest of the material - some originals, many covers - to know what sounds the best.
It's a shame Jimmy can't tell the difference.

The Bottom Line
It's not that this is overly bad, or lacking any enjoyment - it's just pointless. It was recorded over 12 months ago and it's release just seems to be a necessity in order for there to be a Jimmy release come December.
Avoid this and get the utterly essential Barnstorming - one of the greatest ever live CDs.
