Lost Weekend are another band that will slot into the Now & Then history quite nicely.
Now & Then have always kept fans of pomp AOR happy with at least one release a year.
Previously we have had the Dante Fox releases, The Promise and Shotgun Symphony.
Fans of those are recommended to check out Lost Weekend.
The band feature a strong vocalist in Paul Uttley, who with a dark and deep voice takes some getting used to, but there are rewards if you do persevere.
The guys feature and equal mix of big keyboards, guitars and a generally big pompus sound. The songs thankfully all have good hooks and catchy choruses that will see them pick up a following.
BOTTOM LINE:The whole pomp genre is something for personal tastes. Those that follow this sound will know exactly what I speak of here, those that don't will wonder 'what the hell is pomp?!'
The important thing here is that the songs are all good and the production is solid. For fans of the genre, this is a good album.
