Romeo's Dead are one of those full steam ahead glam/punk bands in the vein of Pretty Boy Floyd & Shameless.
Their bio reads: "Romeo's Dead was born in 1997 when Zane and Aaron placed an ad in the now defunct BAM magazine looking for players to form a "real" rock-n-roll band. Big guitars, a rock-n-roll swagger and cool shoes were all part of the equation. The normal fucking GIT mullet types applied but were swiftly dismissed with a kick to their boring ass!!..."
This is a re-release of the band's 1999 debut, re-mastered/re-packaged with two bonus tracks. A new album is underway.
The album features 14 2 and 3 minute high octane punk rock tracks, all featuring tongue in cheek lyrics and a good time hard rock vibe.
The sound is pretty loose, raw, stripped back and unproduced, but it still sounds ok. The band are obviously into their stuff, as the conviction in delivery is unmistakable.
A real punk attitude mixed with a few sing-a-long oh-oh-ooh-oh choruses makes this pretty easy listening if you are in the right nood.

The Bottom Line
Punk rock fans and those partial to previous Fastlane Records releases need to check this out. It's very high energy, very in your face and a lot of fun. Catchy songs yes, stadium rock anthems no. The production quality lets it down somewhat, but it's a good fun release all all-round.
