Glam rock is alive and well in the hands of Shameless.
Shameless are a modern day version of Poison circa 1985, spreading the joy of glam with pride.
Featuring performances by Steve Summers, Alexx Michael, Keri Kelli, B.C., Mike Fasano and Stevie Rachelle, the band are onto album number 3 here and are getting better with each release - with their songwriting atleast.
The songs featured here are their best without doubt.
Whether it be the rock anthem Don't Hesitate, or the excellent mood rocker Goodbye 2 U, or the punkish glam of Toy Human or the rock anthem Change Your World, song quality is high and hooks and melodies flow freely.
Special note to the big power ballad She's Not Coming Home. Wow, had it been 1987, these guys would have knocked Poison off the Billboard #1 spot.
There is one thing with many glam releases that I must raise again here. The production quality is in most instances is lacking.
Shameless are no different – the songs really are catchy as hell and are first rate, but the production quality does let the team down a little. And this is a step backwards from the band's last album.
The sound can appear muddy at times and isn't consistent throughout the album.
Some tracks sound better than others.

The Bottom Line
|
In all honesty, the song quality here kicks the current Poison album in the ass. I highly recommend this to any glam rock fans out there. Especially anyone disappointed by the Welcome To Hollyweird album.
But just be aware that the production here is roughly on the same par as that album.
Great artwork and extra added value features like a making of video feature and a clip to the track Don't Hesitate make this a well rounded release.
