Rock Candy Records is proud to announce that the long sought after - and never before available on CD - self titled debut album from cult seventies US rock band Trigger hits the record racks Monday 17th August 2009.
Originally issued on the legendary Casablanca label (signed on the recommendation of Gene Simmons) in 1978, this album has been a hard rock collector's favorite; for years a perennal top 3 title in virtually every reissue wish-list published in on-line forums and beyond. The Trigger sound was cut from very much the same cloth as fellow label stable mates Kiss and Angel, as well as other great American hard rock institutions such as Starz, Aerosmith and Cheap Trick. Melodic, yet rough hewn, their sound relied on killer hooks, razor sharp guitar playing, pummelling rhythm work and songs that told road-weary stories of hard livin', dangerous deeds and late nights. It was a party-hard sound tailor made for the era and one that out-performed fledgling rivals by a considerable margin.
This reissue is also perfectly timed for the band's recently announced reformation. All three surviving members will be playing a reunion show this coming weekend on Sunday August 16th at the Headliner Club, Neptune New Jersey.

New York, NY…August 13, 2009…Les Paul, acclaimed guitar player, entertainer and inventor, passed away today from complications of severe pneumonia at White Plains Hospital in White Plain, New York, surrounded by family and loved ones. He had been receiving the best available treatment through this final battle and in keeping with his persona; he showed incredible strength, tenacity and courage. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks for the thoughts and prayers from his dear friends and fans. Les Paul was 94.
One of the foremost influences on 20th century sound and responsible for the world's most famous guitar, the Les Paul model, Les Paul's prestigious career in music and invention spans from the 1930s to the present. Though he's indisputably one of America's most popular, influential, and accomplished electric guitarists, Les Paul is best known as an early innovator in the development of the solid body guitar. His groundbreaking design would become the template for Gibson's best-selling electric, the Les Paul model, introduced in 1952. Today, countless musical legends still consider Paul's iconic guitar unmatched in sound and prowess. Among Paul's most enduring contributions are those in the technological realm, including ingenious developments in multi-track recording, guitar effects, and the mechanics of sound in general.
Born Lester William Polsfuss20in Waukesha, Wisconsin on June 9, 1915, Les Paul was already performing publicly as a honky-tonk guitarist by the age of 13. So clear was his calling that Paul dropped out of high school at 17 to play in Sunny Joe Wolverton's Radio Band in St. Louis. As Paul's mentor, Wolverton was the one to christen him with the stage name Rhubarb Red, a moniker that would follow him to Chicago in 1934. There, Paul became a bonafide radio star, known as both hillbilly picker Rhubarb Red and Django Reinhardt-informed jazz guitarist Les Paul. His first recordings were done in 1936 on an acoustic—alone as Rhubarb Red, as well as backing blues singer Georgia White. The next year he formed his first trio, but by 1938 he'd moved to New York to begin his tenure on national radio with one of the more popular dance orchestras in the country, Fred Waring's Pennsylvanians.
Tinkering with electronics and guitar amplification since his youth, Les Paul began constructing his own electric guitar in the late '30s. Unhappy with the first generation of commercially available hollowbodies because of their thin tone, lack of sustain, and feedback problems, Paul opted to build an entirely new structure. "I was interested in proving that a vibration-free top was the way to go," he has said. "I even built a guitar out of a railroad rail to prove it. What I wanted was to amplify pure string vibration, without the resonance of the wood getting involved in the sound." With the good graces of Epiphone president Epi Stathopoulo, Paul used the Epiphone plant and machinery in 1941 to bring his vision to fruition. He affectionately dubbed the guitar "The Log."
Les Paul's tireless experiments sometimes proved to be dangerous, and he nearly electrocuted himself in 1940 during a session in the cellar of his Queens apartment. During the next two years of rehabilitation, Les earned his living producing radio music. Forced to put the Pennsylvanians and the rest of his career on hold, Les Paul moved to Hollywood. During World War II, he was drafted into the Army but permitted to stay in California, where he became a regular player for Armed Forces Radio Service. By 1943 he had assembled a trio that regularly performed live, on the radio, and on V-Discs. In 1944 he entered the jazz spotlight—thanks to his dazzling work filling in for Oscarr Moore alongside Nat King Cole, Illinois Jacquet, and other superstars at the first of the prestigious Jazz at the Philharmonic concerts.
By his mid-thirties, Paul had successfully combined Reinhardt-inspired jazz playing and the western swing and twang of his Rhubarb Red persona into one distinctive, electrifying style. In the Les Paul Trio he translated the dizzying runs and unusual harmonies found on Jazz at the Philharmonic into20a slower, subtler, more commercial approach. His novelty instrumentals were tighter, brasher, and punctuated with effects. Overall, the trademark Les Paul sound was razor-sharp, clean-shaven, and divinely smooth.
As small combos eclipsed big bands toward the end of World War II, Les Paul Trio's popularity grew. They cut records for Decca both alone and behind the likes of Helen Forrest, the Andrews Sisters, the Delta Rhythm Boys, Dick Hayes, and, most notably, Bing Crosby. Since 1945, when the crooner brought them into the studio to back him on a few numbers, the Trio had become regular guests on Crosby's hit radio show. The highlight of the session was Paul's first No. 1 hit and million-seller, the gorgeous "It's Been a Long, Long Time."
Meanwhile, Paul began to experiment with dubbing live tracks over recorded tracks, also altering the playback speed. This resulted in "Lover (When You're Near Me)," his revolutionary 1947 predecessor to multi-track recording. The hit instrumental featured Les Paul on eight different electric guitar parts, all playing together. In 1948, Paul nearly lost his life to a devastating car crash that shattered his right arm and elbow. Still, he convinced doctors to set his broken arm in the guitar-picking and cradling position. Laid up but undaunted, Paul acquired a firs t generation Ampex tape recorder from Crosby in 1949, and began his most important multi-tracking adventure, adding a fourth head to the recorder to create sound-on-sound recordings. While tinkering with the machine and its many possibilities, he also came up with tape delay. These tricks, along with another recent Les Paul innovation—close mic-ing vocals—were integrated for the first time on a single recording: the 19550 No. 1 tour de force "How High the Moon." This historic track was performed during a duo with future wife Mary Ford. The couple's prolific string of hits for Capitol Records not only included some of the most popular recordings of the early 1950s, but also wrote the book on contemporary studio production. The dense but crystal clear harmonic layering of guitars and vocals, along with Ford's close mic-ed voice and Paul's guitar effects, produced distinctively contemporary recordings with unprecedented sonic qualities. Through hits, tours, and popular radio shows, Paul and Ford kept one foot in the technological vanguard and the other in the cultural mainstream.
All the while, Les Paul continued to pine for the perfect guitar. Though The Log came close, it wasn't quite what he was after. In the early 1950s, Gibson Guitar would cultivate a partnership with Paul that would lead to the creation of the guitar he'd seen only in his dreams. In 1948, Gibson elected to design its first solid body, and Paul, a self-described "dyed-in-the-wool Gibson man," seemed the right man for the job. Gibson avidly courted the guitar legend, even driving deep into the Pennsylvania mountains to deliver the first model to newlyweds Les Paul and Mary Ford.
"Les played it, and his eyes lighted up," then-Gibson President Ted McCarty has recalled. The year was 1950, and Paul had just signed on as the namesake of Gibson's first electric solidbody, with exclusive design privileges. Working closely with Paul, Gibson forged a relationship that would change popular culture forever. The Gibson Les Paul model—the most powerful and respected electric guitar in history—began with the 1952 release of the Les Paul Goldtop. After introducing the original Les Paul Goldtop in 1952, Gibson issued the Black Beauty, the mahogany-topped Les Paul Custom, in 1954. The Les Paul Junior (1954) and Special (1955) were also introduced before the canonical Les Paul Standard hit the market in 1958. With revolutionary humbucker pickups, this sunburst classic has remained unchanged for the half-century since it hit the market.

With the rise of the rock 'n' roll revolution of 1955, Les Paul and Mary Ford's popularity began to wane with younger listeners, though Paul would prove to be a massive influence on younger generation of guitarists. Still, Paul and Ford maintained their iconic presence with their wildly popular television show, which ran from 1953-1960. In 1964, the couple, parents to a son and daughter, divorced. Paul began playing in Japan, and recorded an LP for London Records before poor health forced him to take time off—as much as someone so inspired can take time off. In the 1977, Paul resurfaced with a Grammy-winning Chet Atkins collaboration, Chester and Lester. Then the ailing guitarist, who'd already suffered arthritis and permanent hearing loss, had a heart attack, followed by bypass surgery.
Ever stubborn, Les recovered, and returned to live performance in the late 1980s. Even releasing the 2005 double-Grammy winner Les Paul & Friends: American Made World Played, featuring collaborations with a veritable who's who of the electric guitar, including dozens of illustrious fans like Keith Richards, Buddy Guy, Billy Gibbons, Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, and Joe Perry. In 2008, The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame paid tribute to Les Paul in a week-long celebration of his life which culminated with a live performance by Les himself. Until recently Les continued to perform two weekly New York shows with the Les Paul Trio, at The Iridium Ja zz Club in New York City, for over twelve years where a literal who's who of the entertainment world has paid homage. It has been an honor to have Les Paul perform at The Iridium Jazz Club for the past twelve years hosting such luminaries as Paul McCartney, Keith Richards and others and is a tragic loss to owner Ron Sturm both personally and professionally. Iridium intends to celebrate Les Paul's music and legacy every Monday night.
Les Paul has since become the only individual to share membership into the Grammy Hall of Fame, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the National Inventors Hall of Fame, and the National Broadcasters Hall of Fame. Les is survived by his three sons Lester (Rus) G. Paul, Gene W. Paul and Robert (Bobby) R. Paul, his daughter Colleen Wess, son-in-law Gary Wess, long time friend Arlene Palmer, five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. A private Funeral service will be held in New York. A service in Waukesha, WI will be announced at a later date. Details will follow and will be announced for all services. Memorial tributes for the public will be announced at a future date. Cooper Inc. will release their debut album Pulling The Trigger on October 9 via CTM Christones Music / Point Music.
Cooper Inc. is a new band which emerged out of Christian Tolle Project led by the German guitarist of the same name and a collaboration between Dutch singer John Cuipers (Ayreon, Christian Tolle Project) and drummer Hans in't Zandt (Vengeance/ Mad Max) in order to turn two projects into one real band.
Cooper Inc. supported Toto three summers in succession all over Germany as well as lots of shows on their own in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany and built a following. Through the individual members' work in the music business eventually Cooper Inc. teamed up with top producer Michael Voss (Voices Of Rock, Mad Max, Casanova, Silver, Michael Schenker to name a few) and bass player Matthias Rethmann (LeeZ, Paul Sabu, Silver).
Michael Voss guided the band and took their new songs to a higher level. He produced 12 new tracks between Summer 2008 and Spring 2009 which resulted in the new CD "Pulling The Trigger". Performed with an incredible amount of energy the album contains a powerful mixture of Heavy Rock tracks such as „Rock My World" and „Who Gives You The Right", stadium like hook lines in „All Of You" and „Never Let You Go" as well as pumping grooves in the title track „Pulling The Trigger", "Who is the One" and "On the Cover". Michael Voss can here be heard as guest on keyboards and backing vocals, as well as guitarists Doug Aldrich (Whitesnake) and Vinny Burns (Dare, ex Ten) with a guest solo on one track each.

COVERDALE & PRIEST TALK TOUR CANCELLATION:
A few updates in the wake of the cancellation of Whitesnake's remaining US tour dates:
Judas Priest: "It is with deep regret that we have to announce that Whitesnake will unfortunately not be able to continue on the remainder of our tour in the US - David Coverdale is suffering from very severe throat problems and is under strict doctor's orders to stop singing immediately or could do serious damage to his vocal chords. We are very sorry - we loved having Whitesnake out with us and we wish David a very speedy recovery."
David Coverdale: "Ahh... Good day, my Loves... I genuinely appreciate your care and concern, but, may I assure you all that I am now safely home and doing well... all I need to do is to rest my vocal cords for a couple of weeks. The really difficult thing is for me to shut the F up. I am not on any medication, other than room temp waters to stay hydrated. I have a list of do's and don'ts... and don't even think about it, mate! I'll be back to see the exceptionally good specialists in a couple of weeks. Until then, I would appreciate everyone not worrying... everything will be fine. I'm at my beautiful home, surrounded by all my books... all my big boy toys that will help keep me busy and distracted while I rest up. Mmm... my steam room... where I'll be spending lots of reflective time... an incredible Tahoe Summer that I will enjoy to the max, and of course, my favourite family in the whole wide world.
Of course, I sincerely regret being unable to complete the Red Rocks show... that was tough... on such a gorgeous evening and after being given a heartwarming, inspiring reception. A hard decision to stop... and then to be unable to finish the US tour with Priest, but, obviously, it was not to be. With hand on heart I thank Judas Priest and their fine crew for extraordinary hospitality and camaraderie... and of course, my fantastic band and crew for their amazing support. Without a doubt, that includes the wonderful responses we received all over the US from you golden people. Treasured memories... thank you, a thousand times. AEROSMITH TOUR FALLS OVER:
And in the wake of Steven Tyler's fall, Aerosmith have cancelled all remaining dates on their tour with ZZ Top:
"It is with great regret that Aerosmith are canceling the remainder of their summer tour, it was announced today. Due to injuries (frontman) Steven Tyler sustained last week when he fell from the stage during a concert in Sturgis, SD, doctors have advised the lead singer to take the time to properly recuperate from the accident that resulted in a broken shoulder and stitches to his head. In his current condition, Tyler is unable to tour and the band wants to give him time to get healthy.
Ticket refunds for the rest of the tour dates with special guests ZZ TOP will be available at point of purchase.
Tyler fell from the stage during the August 5th show that was part of the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in Western South Dakota. The mishap occurred while he was dancing during the band's 'Love In An Elevator'. Tyler was subsequently airlifted to a hospital and then returned to Boston to consult with his own doctors.
Aerosmith - Steven Tyler (vocals), Joe Perry (guitar), Brad Whitford (guitar), Tom Hamilton (bass) and Joey Kramer (drums) - want to thank all their fans for their incredible ongoing support and understanding at this time.
"Words can't express the sadness I feel for having to cancel this tour," says Joe Perry. "I would like to thank our loyal fans for sticking by us through thick and thin and all the good energy they are sending our way. We hope we can get the Aerosmith machine up and running again as soon as possible. I sure am going to miss playing with ZZ Top just as I'm sure the fans are going to miss seeing them playing with us as well. Hope to see you sooner than later."
Joe adds, "My hat's off to our crew for putting up with this crazy stop and start tour. In my estimation, it was one of the best looking and best run tours we've ever had. Us road dawgs will meet again. May your wheels keep turning and your load in's stay smooth."
"All of us here in the Aerosmith organization and all of the people who contribute to making our shows possible are in a state of shock," Brad Whitford says. "We never anticipated this tour coming to such a swift and unfortunate ending. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Steven for a speedy recovery and return to good health."
Aerosmith's Steven Tyler speaks out after accident:
"Steven Tyler says that in thousands of concerts he's only fallen off the stage four times – but this last one was worthy of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. "I landed upside down, and after twenty stitches on the back of my head, and a broken left shoulder, I just want to say that I'm plain grateful that I didn't break my neck!" the 61-year-old Aerosmith lead singer said Thursday in his first comments since last week's accident that left him with a broken left shoulder and 20 stitches on the back of his head.
Tyler said everything seemed to be going perfectly at the Aug. 5 show in Sturgis, S.D., where after a storm caused a one-hour delay, "Tens of thousands of my biker buddies were ready to rock!" He called it "one of the best shows we've played in a long time! The band was slammin' and I was lovin' every minute of it!"
The first trouble came when the fuses on the equipment blew and the sound went down in the middle of the song "Love In an Elevator." "Well, I wasn't gonna go hide under the big top and play 'ROCK STAR' and wait for everything to be fixed," he said in his statement. "I wanted to go out to the crowd to continue the show ... so, the Train Kept A-Rollin' and I ran out on the cat walk and grabbed my mic to finish the song."
That's when things got out of hand. "I was doing the Tyler shuffle and then I zigged when I should have zagged ... AND I slipped, and as I live on the edge ... I fell off the edge!" he said, expressing relief that he survived the ordeal.
Tyler thanked fans "for your love and support" and paid tribute to the band's crew and the venue's staff "for taking care of me in a time of need," as well as the police department and the helicopter crew "for getting me outta there before I bled to death." He also thanked "all the doctors and nurses at the Rapid City Hospital for putting my Humpty Dumpty ass back together again."
"And most of all ... I want to thank the angel on my shoulder," he said. "Looking forward to seeing all of you very soon."

FORMER FUNNY MONEY GUITARIST ROB GALPIN:
Former Funny Money guitarist Rob Galpin has released his first single from his forthcoming solo album, Galpin - Home Away From Home. The song (available here: www.amazon.com/Relentless/dp/B002KASDPW/ref=dm_ap_alb2?ie=UTF8&qid=1250164669&sr=1-2) is called Relentless and it finds the guitarist in a much heavier territory than what he once held down with Kix vocalist Steve Whiteman and the rest of Funny Money. "I just loved some of the newer music I was catching on the radio from bands like Shinedown, Saving Abel and Three Days Grace, so I decided to try my hand at writing and performing something in that Modern Rock vibe that I was enjoying", says Galpin.
The "Home Away From Home" album is being released one track at a time thru digital download distributors like Itunes, Amazon MP3, Napster, Rhapsody, Shockhound and more. The tracks will follow each other in two week increments and run all the way until the end of 2009 to make up the entire 12-track album. Rob's website; www.robgalpin.com has daily blogs that update fans on the creation of each track with sound-bytes and pictures of the process. "I wanted everyone to be in the room with me while I was doing this because that's what I wish I could have done while Eddie was making all those Van Halen albums", Rob laughs. "Since every track has a different style and creation process to it, this is a great way to get early feedback and also let everyone in on the effort in a real-time kind of way. It's just become part of the whole effort for me and is almost as fun as hearing the final piece itself".
Galpin's next track will be entitled "Kansas"; a mid-tempo rocker with a slight Southern Rock swagger and a shredding guitar solo to boot. Scheduled release date for "Kansas" is August 25.
EX-RAINBOW MEMBERS REUNITE TO TOUR EUROPE AND RUSSIA:
Over The Rainbow Announces Fall Concert Dates / (New York, NY) In August 2008, four former Rainbow musicians reunited and asked Jurgen Blackmore, son of Rainbow's founder Ritchie Blackmore, to join them in Over The Rainbow. The band launched their debut tour in Russia, Belarus and The Ukraine earlier this year before sold out arena crowds. The buzz generated by fans was so intense that the demand for them to return to Russia had to be met. Bassist Greg Smith says, "I am very excited about going back to Russia. The fans there were amazing and I can't wait to play for them again. It's also exciting to bring this show to several cities in Western and Eastern Europe for the first time."
Vocalist Joe Lynn Turner adds, "The variety of European cities that we are playing on this tour is a strong testament to the fact that the music of Rainbow is alive, well and in demand by the fans who have never forgotten its contribution to music history. As for returning to Russia, the Russian people and fans have always had a warm place in my musical heart and soul. Debuting Over The Rainbow earlier this
year there was electric! We are ready to give the fans more this fall!"
In the 70s, 80s and 90s, Rainbow released over 20 albums (five Gold, four Silver), seven Billboard Hot 100 and Mainstream Rock tracks, six Top 75 UK songs and at least seven MTV frequently played videos. Since 1998, former members of Rainbow and their respective management offices were overloaded with requests for Rainbow to reunite. Rondinelli, Smith and Turner agreed that the only legitimate way to accomplish this was to employ a Blackmore on guitar.
Jurgen Blackmore said, "The Russian fans welcomed me with open arms during the band's debut tour. I felt like the fans were very encouraging. They were obviously so hungry to hear Rainbow songs performed live again and I was proud to be the one to help deliver the music to them! For this tour, I am especially looking forward to playing in my home country of Germany."

Drummer Bobby Rondinelli sums it up best by saying, "Europe is our second home and Russia is where the band was born. It will be great to go back."

RUNDGREN GOES LIVE:
Todd Rundgren today announced that he will film and record his A Wizard, A True Star concert for a forthcoming live DVD and live CD when he plays the Palace Theater in Stamford, Connecticut on 9th September. The two-disc set is scheduled for an early 2010 release through Music Publishing Corporation of America's label, Hi Fi Recordings.
The live recordings will include an all-star line-up consisting of former members of Utopia, The Cars, Meat Loaf's band, and The Tubes: Todd Rundgren (vocals, guitar), Roger Powell (synthesizers and keyboards), Greg Hawkes (synthesizers and keyboards), Kasim Sulton (bass), Jesse Gress (guitar), Bobby Strickland (saxophone), and Prairie Prince (drums).
The tour will mark the first time Rundgren has performed the this highly influential prog rock album in its entirety (there are several songs from AWATS that have never been performed live anywhere, full-stop).

BLACK 'N BLUE AND Z RECORDS SEVER TIES:
Black 'N Blue's long awaited reunion album, Hell Yeah!, will not be released in Europe through Z Records in Europe as previously reported. The label and band both reached an amicable agreement concerning the remuneration for Z's interests and a deal was signed during mid July. "There are no hard feelings on the split", says vocalist, Jaime St. James. "A lot of things have changed with this record since our signing with Z back in 2003. Z originally signed me, and now the record has four original members".
Z Records head Mark Alger stated "when Jaime approached us regarding the involvement of the other original members contractually, we listened and his suggestions where agreeable. Z has been repaid in full and we wish the band every success" More announcements by the band on the release of "Hell Yeah!" will be forthcoming in the very near future.
